Measuring for your crane needs
Step 1: Determine where the crane will be set up. Gauge the location of the crane’s center of rotation. This will be approximately 13 feet back from the curb, sidewalk, excavation, or wall that restricts the crane from getting closer to the load.
Step 2: Identify where the load will be placed or lifted from. This should be a spot where the crane can safely reach clear of power lines and trees.
Step 3: Measure the straight-line distance from the crane’s center of rotation to the center of the load.
